How to Integrate Gmail with Your Shopibx Store

Description: This guide will show you how to connect your Gmail account to Shopibx, so you can easily send order confirmations, customer notifications, and other emails directly from your store.


Step-by-Step Guide to Connect Gmail with Shopibx #

  1. Navigate to Email Settings
    • Log in to your Shopibx dashboard.
    • Go to Settings > Email Settings.
  2. Select Gmail as Your Email Provider
    • From the dropdown menu in the Email Settings section, choose Gmail as your email provider.
  3. Fill in the Required InformationFor Gmail, fill out the following fields:
    • Mail Driver:
      • Set this to smtp.
    • Mail Host:
      • Enter smtp.gmail.com.
    • Mail Port:
      • Use 587.
    • Mail Username:
      • Enter your Gmail email address (e.g., your-email@gmail.com).
    • Mail Password:
      • Important: You need to generate an App Password in Gmail to allow Shopibx to send emails on your behalf. Here’s how:
        1. Go to your Google Account.
        2. Click on Security in the sidebar.
        3. Under “Signing in to Google”, select App Passwords.
        4. Choose Mail for the app and Other (Shopibx) for the device, then click Generate.
        5. Copy the generated App Password and paste it in the Mail Password field in Shopibx.
    • Mail Encryption:
      • Set this to tls.
    • Mail From Address:
      • Enter the email address you’d like to send from, such as your-email@gmail.com.
    • Mail From Name:
      • Enter the name you want your customers to see (e.g., Your Store Name).
  4. Test Your Configuration
    • After entering all the required information, click the Test button to verify that the connection works. This will send a test email to check the configuration.
  5. Save Your Settings
    • Once the test is successful, click Save to apply the settings.

What to Do if You Encounter Issues #

  • Enable “Less Secure Apps”: If you receive an error during testing, make sure your Google account allows less secure apps. This is important if you’re not using 2-Step Verification. To enable this feature, follow these steps:
    1. Visit Less Secure Apps settings.
    2. Turn on access for less secure apps.
  • Check App Password: Ensure you’ve generated the correct App Password from Google and that it’s entered correctly.

By following these steps, you will be able to integrate Gmail with your Shopibx store and start sending emails to your customers.
